The included breakfast is fantastic! The lunch and dinner menus are also diverse and the prices are very reasonable. We kindly received a free upgrade to superior rooms, which were amazing with huge windows into the forest. The staff is very friendly and can accommodate any wishes. The bar is also fun! 

Great, quiet location with a wonderful garden including pool close to the center of Lushoto. Very friendly staff, great restaurant with good breakfast and dinner, convenient laundry service, perfect support with organizing bus tickets to Moshi. We also appreciated that Shambaa Eco Tours was located directly on the premises. We did two excellent hiking tours with them. 

Very pleasant hotel to stay. Staff and management extremely friendly and helpful. Possibility of several excursions on site. Very neat and food excellent. 

I rate lawns hotel high in every category. Very friendly knowledgeable people. Good selection of drinks in the historical bar. Very good meals served in the restaurant. Swimming pool and grounds are nice. The whole building is full of history. 

The rooms are spacious and clean and very comfortable. Tours can easily be arranged from here or you can just walk down into the traditional village. 

I spent my childhood at the Magamba Grewal Sawmill, visited this Hotel with our father regularly and had fond memories. I returned after 55 years (with my wife, our two children, their spouses and three grandsons) and really enjoyed our stay there - we all felt that a lot of the older reviews do injustice to the Hotel as it is now, the younger owners, the new Manager Shakira and the Staff. 

We had an excellent welcome, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food (including our packed lunches) were excellent. We were all very pleased with the rustic (fits with and in harmony with the environment), very clean, and excellent accommodation. The help and very pleasant interactions with the Manager Shakira, the bar staff and the restaurant staff very pleasant, they made us feel really welcome and at home. 

Originally a German farmhouse, Lushoto's The Lawns Hotel was converted by the British and registered in 1946. The Nikitas family now preserve its colonial charm and history. This place indeed has bags of charm and feels very comfortable.

Our family room was spacious, had a balcony with a garden view. The gardens like the hotel are well maintained The room was clean and oozed character. There is no air conditioning but there is a fan, air conditioning is not needed as it goes cooler at night because of the altitude. There is a well stocked bar and plenty of comfortable seats inside or outside to enjoy a drink. The evening meals, although off a fixed menu were varied and delicious.

The swimming pool was clean but a little chilly owing to the height above sea level. The hotel is a fifteen minute walk from the town. The staff were charming and very helpful. The very friendly receptionist ordered our bus tickets and arranged our transport to the bus station. All in all a very pleasant three nights.
