Directions

From Dar es Salaam:

• ~6–9 hours by road
• Direct buses run from Shekilango terminal (around 06:00, ~6 hours), or take any northbound bus to Mombo
• dalla-dalla or taxi up the mountain (final leg ~1 hour). 

From Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO):

• take any large bus heading toward Dar
• get off at Mombo
• then dalla-dalla, taxi or hotel shuttle up to Lushoto

From Zanzibar:

• ferry to Dar then road, or fly to Kilimanjaro and continue south.
